There is a Congressional effort underway to help avert a crisis in Turkey. Members of the United States Congress are urging President Clinton to urge its ally Turkey to show magnanimity towards Mr. Ocalan.

If you believe, as we do, that executing Mr. Ocalan will add fuel to the raging fires of the Turkish-Kurdish conflict, please consider urging your representative - - call us if you don't know their names and phone numbers -- to be a signatory on the letter to President Clinton. The peace of the Turks and of the Kurds, the life of Mr. Ocalan and the stability of the region hinges on your effort.

We hope you will take the time to reach out to your representative and urge him or her to be a force for peace in Kurdistan.
